Our story
It all started in 2018 when Shayne bought Gary an 'Introduction to beekeeping' course as a birthday gift. Gary came home after the course in April completely hooked and in June we got our first colony of bees. We soon discovered that one colony wasn't enough - we wanted to be able to do our hobby for more than an hour a week and we were fast seeing how addictive beekeeping can be! Over the years we have increased our colony numbers and now have several sites in the Thanet area.
Our Beekeepers
Fairfield Honey is run by husband and wife team Gary and Shayne Luckhurst. We care deeply for the welfare of our bees and we only ever take the surplus honey, leaving plenty behind for the bees to use.
As hobby beekeepers with a passion for beekeeping we promote healthy bee populations. We are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our bees, only inspecting when necessary to keep disruption to the colonies to a minimum and ensuring that our products are of the highest quality. Gary has entered our honey and wax products in the National Honey Show and the Kent Show at Detling as well as our local shows over the past few years and has won many awards.
